Our company is looking for a Research Coordinator to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Occasional out-of-town travel is required, mostly within the state of California;
  • Must be able to work non-standard work hours to fulfill job requirements;
  • Managing medical record abstraction and data collection;
  • May assist with the development, submission, and management of Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols;
  • Preparing, organizing and communicating research results for presentations, manuscripts and annual reports to NIH;
  • Organizing focus group and in-depth interview activities under the direction of senior scientific staff;
  • Obtain blood from guinea pigs, isolate the peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC), and infect them with VZV;
  • Performing other related projects and responsibilities as needed and assigned;
  • Submit results to Merck and eventually report to the FDA, and concern the safety of VZV vaccines that were administered to people;
  • Assisting with structured telephone or zoom interviews with participants using validated measures, including validating interviews when necessary;
  • Responsible for data quality and creation of data file(s), entering data, coding, and scoring of questionnaires or outcome measures;
  • With the principal investigator, explains the study purpose, parameters, and requirements of the studies to the participants;
  • Organizing monthly meetings and communication between collaborators;
  • Any other related duties as assigned;
  • Working collaboratively with the School of Nursing’s Finance & Accounting department to process payments to participants and reconcile gift cards.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of marine resource priorities for the State of California and of federal agencies in related fields;
  • Previous experience with community outreach and education for research studies;
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred, particularly in social sciences, psychology, public health or social work;
  • Comfortable navigating PeopleSoft ERP systems, CUIMC cash modules, and iLab software;
  • Bachelorâx80x99s or Masterâx80x99s degree preferred, particularly in social sciences, psychology, public health or social work;
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs;
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience plus 2 years of related experience;
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus three years of related experience;
  • Work with Infectious Agents and Chemicals;
  • Previous experience with community outreach and education for research studiesÂ;
  • Knowledge of basic chemical and/or biological terminology;
  • Must have strong organizational skills;
  • Spanish-language fluency and/or experience working with/in low-income communities or communities of color;
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Sponsored Research Project.
