Performs experiments and reports findings on environmental consequences of equipment, tools, and procedures. Our company is looking for a Senior Environmental Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Audit processes;
  • Integrate HS&E into Honeywell’s Operating System;
  • Ensure compliance;
  • Develop procedures;
  • Accurately apply environmental engineering principles; and define and implement engineering solutions to environmental challenges;
  • Act as lead person and/or technical expert on medium to large environmental projects;
  • Complete accurate engineering calculations to support various environmental reporting obligations and for permit applications;
  • Support the planning and execution of multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPT) for GBSD Environmental stakeholders;
  • Provide status to Integrated Product Team (IPT) members and program leadership as required;
  • Read and interpret regulations to communicate and assist in applying those requirements to plant operations;
  • Maintain and continuously improve plant compliance management systems;
  • Facilitate comment adjudication during the EIS process including Public Participation reviews;
  • Accurately prepare permit applications in a way that provides maximum flexibility in plant operations;
  • Conduct internal ESH inspections/audits and participate in incident analyses;
  • Assist in training plant employees to comply with regulations and corporate environmental guidelines; and to understand potential compliance issues.

Requirements:

  • Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist registration;
  • Years of Experience – 10-15;
  • Education – Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science;
  • Experience investigating sites with conventional and emerging contaminants (specifically per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS));
  • Experience managing federal projects (DOD);
  • Certificates – OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER Training and current refresher certificates;
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Geology;
  • Demonstrated decision making skills;
  • 7-10 years of related experience;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in a broad range of situations;
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships; strong teambuilding skills both internally and externally;
  • Experience with Responsible Care Management Systems (RC14001/RCMS) and ISO9001 Quality Management Systems;
  • Related experience in a chemical/manufacturing facility;
  • Strong personal initiative; ability to work independently, gather relevant information and make decisions with little supervision;
  • M.S. with at least 5 to 7 years of related experience.
