Our company is looking for a Senior Environmental Planner to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Collection and analysis of data to support the preparation of planning and/or NEPA studies;
  • Assist with business development, client relationship management and preparation/implementation of strategic planning efforts to support growth;
  • Assist with public outreach related to planning and/or NEPA studies;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Preparation of scopes of work, fee proposals, and responses to RFP’s;
  • Maintaining project files and the production of administrative records;
  • Manage time and effort effectively on multiple projects;
  • Identify program and project staffing needs;
  • Be a visible regional leader within the firm and the industry;
  • Participate in development/water/public works-related associations;
  • Mentor staff;
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture;
  • Develop teaming agreements for project pursuits;
  • Take direction from public agency staff;
  • Supervise project managers and technical staff.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work well independently and in a group setting;
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment with colleagues of different disciplines/backgrounds;
  • Advanced Degree in Planning, Engineering or Environmental Discipline;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Experience with environmental streamlining;
  • Bachelors Degree in Planning, Engineering or Environmental Discipline;
  • Relevant TxDOT environmental/planning pre-certifications, including 2.14.1 Environmental Documentation or ability to obtain;
  • Experience preparing planning studies, technical reports, and/or NEPA documents on TxDOT projects;
  • Knowledge of environmental planning principles and practices with an emphasis on transportation projects;
  • Experience working with public agencies in the greater Southern California region;
  • Experience preparing planning studies and technical reports related to NEPA and/or CEQA;
  • Experience in the environmental process for projects for which the Federal Transit Administration is the federal lead agency;
  • 8-10+ years increasingly responsible experience in technical field;
  • Excellent technical writing skills;
  • Ability to travel out of the immediate area and to work outside of regular work hours if needed.
