Our company is looking for a Senior Transportation Planner to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct, mentor, and oversee the work of junior and mid-level staff;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Serve as project manager or task lead for transportation corridor studies, thoroughfare plans, transit plans, subarea plans and regional plans;
  • Lead the preparation of scopes of work, fee proposals, and responses to RFP’s;
  • Develop business plans and client relationships to grow transportation planning practice areas.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently, productively, and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment with multiple deadlines and stakeholders;
  • Proven track-record of succesfully pursuing and managing transportation planning studies;
  • Bachelors Degree in Planning, Engineering or Environmental Discipline;
  • AICP Certification;
  • 10+ years’ expereince in transportation planning/engineering;
  • Stron project management/leadership skills, experiece growing a diverse planning practice;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Knowledge of transportation planning related sofware and methods (e.g., ArcGIS, Synchro, VISSIM);
  • Advanced Degree in Planning, Engineering or Environmental Discipline;
  • Superb writing and oral communications skills;
  • Geographic information systems (GIS) expertise;
  • Experience and interest in public and stakeholder outreach;
  • Bachelor’s degree in planning or a related discipline; graduate degree desirable;
  • 5+ years of experience in multimodal transportation and land use planning; a graduate degree may be substituted for a portion of this experience;
  • AICP certification or ability to obtain AICP certification within one year of date of hire.
