Accounting Director directs the establishment and implementation of an organization’s accounting policies and procedures. Has overall responsibility for assigned accounting operations and systems as well as associated analysis and report preparation. Being an Accounting Director leads and directs accounting professional and support staff through subordinate managers. Requires a bachelor’s degree. Additionally, Accounting Director may require CPA certification. Typically reports to the CFO or top management. The Accounting Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Accounting Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.

Our company is looking for a Account Director to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the month end close process related to inventory and cost of goods sold across the entire company;
  • Work with the operations team to review and dispose of obsolete inventory, and other projects as necessary;
  • Maintains sufficient funds by forecasting cash requirements and obligations;
  • Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc;
  • Plan, execute and staff public town halls, open houses and workshops across California on behalf of clients;
  • Maintain high-quality relationships to retain and win new clients at the C-level;
  • Nurture and develop existing clients;
  • Is a team player and willing to work closely with manager and peers to learn at all stages of the account management and sales cycle;
  • Provide disciplined contract management to meet superior delivery of all contract deliverables;
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of, and be conversant in, assigned client’s business, products, industry and competitive landscape;
  • Represent the agency at various industry functions, when necessary;
  • Leads, manages, and hold senior staff accountable to deliverables and goals;
  • Manage and prioritize a client portfolio consisting of lead generation and e-commerce clients;
  • Multi-task and get the work done effectively and efficiently—on time, within project budgets and exceeding expectations;
  • Participates in annual financial audits, SOX audits, and special projects.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of SAP Business 1 or similar ERP flows through company’s general ledger;
  • Work closely with staff to understand each individual needs, level or performance and assist in achieving individual excellence within their roles;
  • Leadership and management skills within a PR environment;
  • Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in related field;
  • Ability to interact with cross functional groups and executive management;
  • Business acumen with the represent PR at a senior level;
  • Experience at a corporate communications, public relations or public affairs agency or comparable in-house position is strongly preferred;
  • Responsible for the full sales cycle within a fast-paced environment;
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions;
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required;
  • High level of initiative; take accountability for role on projects;
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs;
  • Experience with large ERP accounting system with preference to NetSuite;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with accounting practices consistent with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
  • Excellent budget and estimate negotiation skills.
