Our company is looking for a Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, as directed;
  • Answer call bells and assist as able;
  • Supervise and guide nursing staff on their daily job duties;
  • Evaluate performance of nursing department and recommend improvements;
  • Respond to all staff, family members and residents in a courteous, patient and caring manner;
  • Assess psychiatric needs in accordance with house psychiatrist for psychiatric admissions;
  • Direct Medicare assessments and related documentation;
  • Assume responsibility for nursing service compliance to federal, state and local regulations;
  • Consistently work cooperatively with hospital administration, nursing personnel to observe Resident’s Rights at all times;
  • At least 2 years nursing supervisory experience required;
  • Monitor nursing personnel to verify that they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies;
  • Inform the Director when physician visits are not made in a timely manner;
  • Attend in-service education programs in order to meet facility educational requirements;
  • Manage the initial training and on-going the education of the staff;
  • Ensure quality customer service.

Requirements:

  • Perform Essential Duties as outlined above;
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn computer software;
  • Comply with the Residents’ Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures;
  • Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience;
  • Professional experience in the practice of geriatrics, nursing administration, and other related areas;
  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time;
  • Previous experience as a Assistant Director of Nursing and/or Staff Education preferred;
  • At least two years of Nursing experience, at least one of which has been in an Administrative, Supervisory capacity;
  • Experience in health care or long term care;
  • Management experience;
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as in state;
  • Strong desire to work with the elderly;
  • CPR Certified;
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), in good standing;
  • Ability to perform physical and mental requirements of the job.
