Automotive Service Consultant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Automotive Service Consultant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in diagnosing vehicle problems; order parts and tools as necessary;
- Set schedules and assigns tasks to service department employees;
- Work with lube team leader to distribute work between lube technicians efficiently;
- Ensure the daily inventory of lube technicians’ time is consistently sold to service customers;
- Maintain Customer Satisfaction scores at or above company standards;
- Maintain good working relationship with factory(s) and foster positive employee relations;
- Process factory maintenance requests per manufacture guidelines;
- Work with others in department to coordinate work flow to main repair shop as needed;
- Reinforces company policies and adheres to company standards;
- Review vehicle history and advise customer on needed maintenance and repair;
- Encourages compliance with applicable laws and regulations;
- Provide concierge support for all owner inquiries, whether phone or in person, to assure the customer does not get mishandled;
- Answer technical questions about vehicle problems, warranties, services, and repairs.
Requirements:
- Strong record of positive customer satisfaction results;
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record;
- Fantastic communication skills with your customers;
- Able to work with little supervision;
- Professional, well-groomed personal appearance;
- Strong work ethic and attendance;
- Team oriented and self-motivated;
- Proficient in using computers and software programs on a daily basis;
- Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check & drug screen;
- Proven track record of service and sales success;
- Time management skills;
- Passion to change a onetime customer into a “Customer for Life”
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no major violations;
- Minimum of one year experience as a Service Writer is preferred.
