Our company is looking for a Bar Manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, and develop new bar team members;
- Ensuring licenses are updated and in line with current legislation;
- Creating effective schedules and quickly resolving conflicts to ensure that bar is well staffed during peak hours;
- Guarantee high performance and profitability while maintaining overall excellence & hospitality throughout each day’s specific service periods;
- Maintain a high-quality, high-functioning bar;
- Continuously build a high performance team;
- Ensure knowledge of and adherence to all applicable laws, policies and procedures;
- Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed as needed and labor cost objectives are met;
- Prepare budgets as required by corporate in an effort to meet budget projections;
- Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner;
- Mentoring and coaching staff in technical and soft skills;
- Lead a team of experienced Bartenders efficiently and effectively;
- Scheduling kitchen and bar staff;
- Manages to achieve or exceed budgeted goals;
- Create and develop drink menu.
Requirements:
- Licenses or certifications that apply in the area;
- Restaurant/bar management experience required;
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts;
- Excellent computer, problem-solving, and customer service skills;
- Strong understanding of business management and accounting principles;
- Have knowledge of service, food and beverage operations, generally involving at least three years of front-of-the-house operations;
- Experience in a bar position (Min 3 years);
- Knowledge of craft beer and wine;
- Be able to communicate and understand in both English and Spanish;
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours);
- Knowledge of bar equipment utilized;
- Licenses or certifications that apply in Michigan;
- Demonstrate a leadership style that creates a positive working environment and remains calm during stressful and emotional situations;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a bartender in a high volume fine dining restaurant.
