Our company is looking for a Catering Sales Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of the sales process for catering and/or conference services. Works with client and customers to design events;
  • Successfully complete alcohol awareness training;
  • Comply with all safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures;
  • Ability to get along well with others and be a team player;
  • Follow all rules, policies, procedures and conditions of employment, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook;
  • Access and input data into a computer system to generate account history reports;
  • Participate in reviewing competitors’ pricing, websites, etc;
  • Develop leads, secure re-bookings and assist with promotion efforts;
  • Actively participate in weekly revenue meeting as well as prepare and present weekly and monthly sales reports;
  • Execute and attain sales Goals as agreed upon by the Assistant Director;
  • Collaborate with Chef and Assistant Director to update and maintain menu offerings. Create special menus and promotions to enhance selling tools;
  • Negotiate services and prices to maximize revenue and profitability;
  • Travel to nearby businesses to generate sales;
  • Update and increase client prospects through active prospecting;
  • Sales quota of $4,000 daily catering sales in two months.

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Associates/Bachelor’s degree;
  • Mathematical skills;
  • Operating within budgeted guidelines by maintaining effective cost controls;
  • The ability to produce proactive sales strategies through direct sales calls, prospecting for new clients, and client visits;
  • The ability to make revenue management decisions to effectively grow market share;
  • Background in hospitality industry is highly desirable;
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills are highly desirable;
  • The ability to ensure that hotel policies and brand standards are followed;
  • Detail oriented, able to articulate clearly and fluently and strong communication skills required;
  • Proficiency in PMS (Opera or Delphi), Word, Outlook, and Excel required;
  • Ability to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Organized and detail oriented;
  • Knowledge of hotel food and beverage operations.
