Communications Specialist II Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Communications Specialist II to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Conceptualizes, creates and maintains mission-driven content for the university website, print publications and digital campaigns;
- Works closely with campus leaders and managers to direct communication and public relations activities;
- Performs any other duties as needed/assigned;
- Contributes to the division’s project management system and editorial calendar to plan and track output;
- Supports university-wide marketing and communication initiatives as assigned;
- Assists with the strategy for and development of internal and executive communications;
- A strong event planning background; the ability to manage multiple projects; and prioritize creativity with an excellent attention to detail;
- Project and event planning experience;
- They must have excellent writing and editing skills;
- The position requires strong writing and organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment;
- This person will be collaborating closely with program leaders and subject matter experts to further business priorities;
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs, journalism or a related field;
- Developing documents and other communications materials and project management;
- Champions the university as a diverse and inclusive campus that engages and empowers students;
- The person will have direct interactions with executives throughout the company.
Requirements:
- Ability to work under deadline and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in corporate communications, public affairs, journalism or a related field;
- Project and event planning experience.
