Director, Customer Strategy Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Director, Customer Strategy to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Piloting new approaches and tactics for serving our customers and driving upsell opportunities, repeat usage, and stakeholder satisfaction;
- Analyzing customer data about performance, unit economics, retention, and LTV;
- Conducting segmentation analyses and developing cohorts that can be dissected.
Requirements:
- Adaptability and flexibility to changing priorities;
- BA/BS degree required. Masters, MBA, or PhD is useful;
- Preferred location – based in Palo Alto, CA;
- Attention to detail and ability to work simultaneously on multiple priorities;
- Writing and speaking prowess; ability to effectively communicate to executives in a Board room setting;
- Analytical and data-driven; you are proficient at using data (think “Excel-ninja”) to generate strategies, assess, execute, and measure impact;
- Solid understanding of life science, drug discovery and development, and R&D outsourcing market a plus;
- A strong understanding of customer insight and experience in working directly with customer insight teams;
- Client-facing or internal consulting experience with a history of building strong client relationships;
- Working knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research techniques;
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional initiatives and teams;
- Ability to maintain clarity and drive focus in client situations;
- Comfort in translating business insight into marketing or experience plans;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft a compelling story to motivate and align stakeholders;
- At least 7 years of consulting experience in a marketing-related field, including a leadership (ideally Director-level or equivalent) role.
