Our company is looking for a Director, Manufacturing Operations to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports the implementation of automated systems throughout the plant;
  • Selects, develops, trains and motivates staff to ensure attainment of short and long term growth objectives;
  • Oversees the effective management of inventory control, warehousing, planning/scheduling and delivery;
  • Keeps Director of Operations or VP of Operations apprised of progress toward objectives through monthly progress reports and financial reporting;
  • Identifies areas requiring improvements and ensures the appropriate production or administrative functional areas implement necessary actions;
  • Directs the development of preventive maintenance programs for the physical facility and equipment;
  • Responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards for all employees;
  • Remains informed of competitive activities, trends in the market, as well as maintains a sound relationship with customers;
  • Develops business plans and budgets to contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the Company;
  • Directs the plant team on quality & service improvement and continuous improvement in all aspects of the business;
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures;
  • Lead an engineering team to strengthen the fundamental capability and capacity of the company by recruiting, developing and retaining top talent;
  • Initiate, work with suppliers and manage teams and projects to improve quality, product performance and cost reductions;
  • Actively contribute in strategic discussions and strategies that are in line and support the overall company goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • A proven track record of initiating and implementing projects and initiatives that take cost out of products;
  • Preferred experience in working for both a small and large companies as well as multi-site experience;
  • Must have managed managers, as well as managed a team of at least 10 people;
  • Must have excellent technical problem-solving skills and be able to effectively resolve conflict;
  • BSME, BSEE, BSET or equivalent degree. Master’s Degree preferred;
  • Experience using CAD-based design tools (i.e. Solidworks, Pro-E);
  • Characteristics include being innovative, entrepreneurial, strategic, self-motivated and a fast-learner;
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple projects, anticipate needs and work independently with limited direction and rolling up your sleeves;
  • Must have a demonstrated understanding of FDA and ISO requirements in relation to medical device product design and manufacturing.
