Our company is looking for a Director, Medical Affairs to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the developmentand management of theandexanet medical affairs budget;
  • Serve asaMedical expert on the Promotional Review Committee (PRC);
  • Assist in the identification and evaluation of potential investigators for clinical studies;
  • Identify key national and regional thrombosis external experts; and function asascientific/clinical contact for Portola;
  • Drive development of medical materialsfor internal and external education;
  • Provide education to physicians on research and development projects;
  • Create and drive medical component of the integrated andexanet product strategy and planning in collaboration with Marketing;
  • ServeasaMedical expert on the Medical Review Committee (MRC);
  • Assist the clinical trials team in the support and communication with investigators;
  • Participate in the collection and exchange of scientific/technical information important to Portola development efforts;
  • Identify and establish a working relationship with key thought leaders;
  • Help develop and manage to timelines publication plans of Portola-sponsored studies;
  • Evaluate key competitive information to aid the clinical and marketing teams in drug development;
  • Identify areas of need for external partnerships;
  • Willingness to travel (35%).

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated medical and strategic expertise that translates into strategic thinking;
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with and provide medical input to influence commercial and clinical development programs;
  • Able to scientifically articulate unmet medical needs based upon ability to align and prioritize medical and payer-related health care;
  • 8 years ofPharma/Biotech/Healthcareexperience required;
  • Proven experience and success as a key member of Medical Affairs team;
  • Solid background and experience in cardiocascular medicine, and understanding of drug development and life-cycle development of a product;
  • Awareness of how to optimize development of a drug for commercialization based upon medical unmet needs and value of the asset;
  • Advanced degree in medical science (MD, PharmD or PhDpreferred),
