Director of Admissions Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Director of Admissions to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Completes all assigned tasks in a timely manner as instructed by supervisor;
- Analyze and manage conversion rates, show rates, and other departmental metrics;
- Supervise production and activity, and maintain the positive morale of the admissions team members;
- Completes discharge paperwork and assures appropriate social services are in place for Resident upon discharge;
- Facilitates admissions by assuring communication with the Resident, and/or family and the completion of related admissions documentation;
- Maintains a current prioritized account list;
- Thinks and acts calmly and logically to meet unusual occurrences of the job without being thrown off stride;
- Assures confidentiality in relation to Resident Medical Records and strict adherence to Resident Rights and ethical boundaries;
- Facilitates walk-in tours;
- Effectively networks with current and past customers to solicit referrals;
- Handles initial inquiries from potential residents and family members via phone;
- Arranges transportation for transfers to other facilities;
- Must manage all Post-acute affiliated patients from multiple local hospitals;
- Welcomes new Residents on or shortly after the day of Admission to establish a trusting relationship and decrease the anxiety of admission;
- Maintains a log of admissions referrals received.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Minimum six (6) years Healthcare experience, preferably in substance abuse treatment field;
- Minimum three (3) years administrative leadership experience;
- Goal oriented experienced sales leader;
- Ability to supervise Admissions office staff;
- Private, post-secondary admissions management experience;
- Good working skillset with MS Office, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
- Proven ability to develop and meet metrics and goals;
- Previous health care community relations experience preferred;
- 1-2 years in Long Term Care including some supervisory experience;
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace;
- Organizational and time management skills – must be able to manage short-term and long-term goals;
- BS/BA in Marketing, Communications, or Business preferred;
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills – must be able to interact over phone and in person;
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
