Our company is looking for a Director of Development to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively and proactively with the Executive Director, Board and staff;
  • Oversee fundraising database and tracking systems;
  • Oversee all aspects of fundraising events (large and small) throughout the year, including planning, implantation, and post-event wrap-up;
  • Coordinate and lead internal HCP and external client status meetings;
  • Develop, oversee, and execute DOROT’s annual fundraising campaign;
  • Regularly reports to the management team and the Board;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Evaluate and assist with responses to Request for Proposals;
  • Collaborate with team members and program staff to enhance all aspects of major gifts program;
  • Daily management of the three-person Development team: Associate Director of Development, Assistant Director of Development and Development Assistant;
  • Manage all aspects of CodePath.org fundraising donor dinners or fundraising events;
  • Create and execute a strategy to identify and cultivate major donors;
  • Develop and ensure the application of best practices in tracking all donations, recording gifts, pledges, and administrative aspects;
  • Manages a regional major gift fundraising program as part of the Major Gifts department within University Development and Alumni Relations;
  • Works with agents, talent executives and production companies to cast host and expert talent for numerous series, specials and stunts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Ability to sustain progress on many program channels simultaneously;
  • Ability to maintain donor confidentiality;
  • Strong community builder;
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated success in securing major gifts (6 and 7 figures) from individuals or comparable sales and marketing accounts;
  • Minimum 10 years work experience;
  • Experience working in public health, social justice, or international development;
  • 3+ years fundraising experience, ideally in a non-profit and/or faith-based organization;
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, non-profit management, or related area;
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a positive attitude;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Experience in social justice, civil rights, interfaith, and/or American Muslim nonprofits preferred;
  • Experience working across teams/departments in cross-cultural communities;
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
