Our company is looking for a Director of Institutional Giving to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to key stakeholders regarding their role in the solicitation and stewardship processes;
  • Prepare annual forecasts and goals;
  • Attend institutional funder meetings and meet individually with foundation or corporate representatives;
  • Prepare timely reports, consistent with funder requirements;
  • Maintain a tracking system for prospects, projects in need of funding, and proposal requirements and deadlines;
  • Coordinate with appropriate staff to ensure that grant requirements are met;
  • Prospect research;
  • Recognize emerging opportunities that support long-range goals and be able to react nimbly to shifts in the external environment;
  • Maintain reporting calendar and grant reporting dashboard;
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as needed;
  • Responsible for acknowledgements and accurate tracking in Raisers’ Edge;
  • Conduct ongoing research into funding opportunities assessing the likelihood of success;
  • Coordinate with the Finance department to ensure that tracking systems are in place to monitor use of funding;
  • Maintain donor files including granting guideline, interest areas, and levels of support;
  • Ensure that funders are engaged with our work.

Requirements:

  • Excellent research and organizational skills;
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial statements in order to write proposals and manage reporting;
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines;
  • Sense of humor;
  • Facility with fundraising databases and competency in Microsoft Office;
  • Participation in PPLM’s efforts to achieve goals for productivity;
  • A commitment to PPLM’s mission and values;
  • Ability to work autonomously and be self-directed;
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as needed;
  • Five to eight years experience as an institutional fundraiser, grant writer or program developer;
  • Outstanding writing and verbal communication skills.
