Director of Revenue Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Director of Revenue to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee administration of Working Capital Facility and develop and maintain the company’s credit policies;
- Recruit, train and mentor a high performing offshore team which handles AR and AP related transactions;
- Ensure Revenue, COGS, AR and commissions are recognized in accordance with GAAP;
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to automate processes so that the business can scale efficiently;
- Own and iterate on order to cash and process improvement roadmap to maintain industry-best in class processes and efficiencies;
- Mentoring and developing a large team;
- All domestic revenue recognition;
- Collaborate with department leads across Sales, Legal, BI, Operations and FP&A to ensure strategic alignment on business initiatives;
- Full-cycle accounting;
- Lead, mentor, and develop the technical skills of a team of revenue and compensation analysts and manager;
- Oversee the sales commission process, provide input into annual sales incentive design, and manage commission analysts;
- Participate in contract review and advise on Accounting considerations with regard to new product offerings;

- Establish and maintain appropriate revenue policies & procedures and ensure they are applied appropriately.
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting or Finance;
- Experience implementing automation and process improvements;
- Strong working knowledge and extensive experience in the practical application of revenue recognition guidance;
- Experience in a fast changing, fast-paced multi-national company;
- Hardware/software revenue recognition experience at a successful public technology company is desired;
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Experience leading teams and overseeing projects;
- Minimum 5 years overseeing Order to Cash and revenue recognition with a focus on systems and scaling processes;

- Excellent teamwork, including the ability to interact with all organization levels;
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership for projects and drive to completion;
- CPA and public accounting experience strongly preferred;
- Experience leading teams and overseeing projects;
- BA or BS in finance or accounting; MBA preferred;
- 10+ years of relevant experience in revenue and managing teams; experience supporting sales operations and revenue forecasting highly desired.
