Our company is looking for a Director of Rooms to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in MOD program;
  • Have dealt with special projects;
  • Develop and recommend the budget, marketing plans and objectives and manages within those approved plans;
  • Experience supervising all Rooms Departments;
  • Coach and counsel colleagues to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures;
  • Ability to assimilate operational statistics quickly and see how they can be used to enhance position of property;
  • Experience developing standards and operating procedures;
  • Responsible for short and long term planning and the management of the Rooms operations in the front and back of the house.

Requirements:

  • Whenever necessary handle guest concerns, complaints with tact, courteousness and professionalism. When necessary approve guest refunds;
  • Work closely with CRES in keeping our PMS system up to date in the yield management strategies designed to stabilize or increase occupancy;
  • Commit and contribute to Furnace Creek Resort’s environmental policies;
  • Optimize room rates, forecasting group occupancy and creating yield management tools that will enhance occupancy on a weekly, monthly basis;
  • Maintain coordination and communication with other departments affected by Rooms such as Sales, Food & Beverage, Maintenance and Accounting;
  • Work with Rooms Department management in the selection, assigning, training and development of Rooms Department staff;
  • Complete annual reviews for all salaried exempt management personnel in the department, as well as establish goals and objectives for each manager;
  • Act as property Director on Duty as assigned;
  • Ensure that guest and employee safety standards are applied and enforced, particularly guestroom key control, walkways and lighting;
  • Maximize the occupancy and rooms revenue of the Furnace Creek properties;
  • Conduct regular spot checks of our website booking engine to make sure room availabilities and rates are properly reflected;
  • Submit annual CEA proposals as well as other purchase requests for non-capitalized items;
  • Communicate staffing needs, including management staff, with Human Resources;
  • Compare historical, regional, seasonal and competitive influences to help give management the tools necessary to maximize ADR and profit;
  • Develop rate strategies and prepare periodic calendar specials for our Email Club members, coordinating offerings with CRES.
