Director of User Experience Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Director of User Experience to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with various design stakeholders;
- Design high-level flow diagrams, wire frames and tap-able prototypes to test or best present their work to play testers and stakeholders;
- Provide written descriptions of non-graphical user interfaces, such as mouse, keyboard, and gamepad controls;
- Collaboration: Work closely with our Product, Engineering and Customer Success teams;
- Participate in general game design sessions;
- Organize the information displayed across user interfaces;
- Coordinate with UI Artists to generate game-ready assets such as buttons, menus, shelves, icons, and other interactive elements;
- Advocate and lead UX discussions; achieve best-possible designs;
- Vision: Bring creative, bold thinking to the table as we evolve our user experience and build innovative products;
- Drive design process and create a good end-to-end experience;
- Facilitate for project teams throughout the design process, gathering actionable feedback and iterating at the appropriate levels;
- Collaborate with other designers, program managers, and engineering teams, working to prioritize UX design;
- Branding: Solid understanding of branding nuances; experience using and enforcing the company brand in visual designs;
- Design, develop, and maintain the UX standards, documentation, and assets related to the Adventure Academy product’s user experience.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience professional experience;
- You have a passion for playing and making games, with a deep understanding of what makes them fun and engaging;
- Excellent animation and motion graphics skills;
- Team player and comfortable working in a production environment;
- Strong knowledge or proficiency in Spine and Sketch;
- Possesses excellent attention to detail and can adapt his/her style to style guide requirements and production needs;
- Strong communication and collaboration skills;
- 3-5 years of relevant experience, with experience in a leadership role;
- Strong presentation skills; ability to present design solutions for game UX;
- Experience working in a game development team as a user interface designer, artist, or game designer.
