Our company is looking for a Head of Medical Affairs to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support/direction, where necessary, for study design and execution for global medical affairs studies;
  • Support internal and external requests for KOL engagement, strategic alliances, and collaborators;
  • Educate KOLs and ensure consistent and accurate medical communications;
  • Represent Mirati at local/national/international scientific congresses and professional society meetings and patient advocacy forums;
  • Provide medical support for key commercial activities;
  • Lead, manage and develop a best-in-class, high-performance medical affairs team and related support functions;
  • Support internal and external requests for KOL engagement, strategic alliances, and collaborators including ISTs/IIRs;
  • Build out and lead the Medical Affairs function to support commercial launches of new products into the marketplace;
  • Provide strategic direction to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors on all Medical Affairs matters;
  • Domestic and international travel required (20-25%);
  • Provide medical support for access strategy, including presentations. Provide medical review of product-related materials, as required;
  • Ensure future communication strategy at the portfolio level;
  • Provides broad scientific/medical support for late-stage (III/IV) clinical development programs;
  • Oversee and provide guidance for budget and resourcing plans;
  • Build, direct, and oversee the activities of the U.S. medical science liaison functions.

Requirements:

  • Motivated by partnerships with a team of visionary scientists to become part of something bigger;
  • A deep understanding of community Oncology and how to engage and interact with community oncology networks;
  • Experience interacting effectively with the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors;
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and projects, requiring an excellent ability to prioritize and manage expectations;
  • Able to understand and communicate effectively at all levels and present complex and/or new ideas with clarity and simplicity;
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient;
  • An MD degree is required for this role;
  • Advanced understanding of clinical medicine/clinical pharmacology, and associated disciplines (e.g. biostatistics) drug development principles;
  • A visionary leader, who can help chart the course, evaluate development and commercial options.
