Our company is looking for a High School Principal to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares and submits the school’s budgetary requests and monitors expenditures of funds;
- Initiates, designs, and implements programs to meet specific needs of the school;
- Supervises the school’s educational program;
- Assumes responsibility for the maintenance of records pertaining to the progress and attendance of students;
- Attends events to recognize student achievement, school sponsored activities, functions, and athletics;
- Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary based on established guidelines regarding proper student conduct;
- Oversees various local funds generated by student activities;
- Assists in the in-service orientation and training of teachers, with special responsibility for staff administrative procedures and instructions;
- Keeps the superintendent informed of the school’s activities;
- Makes recommendations concerning the school’s administration and instruction;
- Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate at Sheridan High School;
- Assumes responsibility for the safety and administration of the school;
- Approves the master teaching schedule and any special assignments;
- Maintains active relationships with students and parents and arranges special meetings between parents and teachers as needed;
- Assists in the recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating of Sheridan High School staff.
Requirements:
- Understands the psychological and physiological development of children;
- Must be persuasive, alert, creative, and have patience, initiative, and reasoning;
- Ability to understand and facilitate the needs of varied personality types;
- 5 years’ teaching experience;
- Ability to weigh options, think clearly, and evaluate accurately;
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely;
- Ability to develop a plan and make decisions to facilitate its fulfillment;
- Ability to make decisions with sound emotional judgment;
- Valid Wyoming Certificate;
- Masters in Education Administration;
- Knowledge of technology;
- Knowledge of curriculum and principles of learning;
- Other qualifications deemed appropriate and acceptable by the Board of Trustees;
- Must be able to concentrate with numerous interruptions.
