Our company is looking for a Hospitalist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines;
  • Supervises patient care delivered by house-staff, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and others as requested;
  • Collaborates with Medical Director in scheduling;
  • May manage the care of patients in critical care units with Intensivist support;
  • Collaborates with physicians, nursing and administrative staff to maximize cost-effective use of clinical resources;
  • Employment is to the Legacy Health organization, as a whole, and therefore provides cross-coverage at other Legacy hospitals may be required;
  • Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities to ensure the health and comfort of all patients;
  • Provides prompt and clear communication about patients’ admission, condition changes and discharge to clinicians responsible for outpatient care;
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals and monitoring the effectiveness of all interventions;
  • Implement measures to assist patients in regaining and sustaining physiologic endurance to include serving in the first assisting role;
  • Collaborates with Emergency Department Clinical Staff to determine the most appropriate site of care for individual patients;
  • Performs duties at the professional level of quality and efficiency established by Hospital;
  • Function autonomously to conduct patient histories and physicals for complex critical, chronically ill, and acute patients;
  • Participates as a team member at patient care conferences;
  • Prepares accurate and timely documentation of patient care to maximize Hospital’s accurate billing and collection of services.

Requirements:

  • Physician who is BC/BE in Internal Medicine or Family Practice with strong interest and experience in hospital-based care;
  • Cover code blue events, rapid response, and admissions;
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification & ACLS Certification;
  • Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association;
  • BC/BE in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (no OB);
  • Ability to provide procedures including central lines, intubations;
  • Block schedule – 7 on 7 off;
  • Graduate of a 4-year Medical School or equivalent and completed Internal Medicine residency;
  • Follows guidelines set forth in Legacy’s Values in Action;
  • Open ICU with critical care coverage during the day. 16 beds;
  • Current, active, and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. State or Territory;
  • DEA Licensure;
  • Unrestricted California License required;
  • Current California DEA certificate required prior to start date;
  • Ability to be credentialed on all payors.
