Nocturnist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Nocturnist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide back-up support to residents when needed;
- Respond to code blue calls and rapid response teams as needed;
- Utilize appropriate physician-to-physician communication methods to ensure safe and effective patient handoffs;
- Support residency programs by serving as backup admitting physician for Internal and Family Medicine admissions to both the ICU and non-ICU units;
- Oversee residents during designated hours as agreed upon with residency program directors.
Requirements:
- BC/BE in Internal Medicine;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong team orientation;
- EKG interpretation,
- 26 months of ACGME – approved residency in internal medicine,
- Experience in an acute care setting, including: ICU patient care,
- MD or DO (or foreign equivalent),
- Emergency Department management that included ACS and acute stoke patients;
- 12 months as a Hospitalist or similar,
- PA medical license,
- Ventilator management;
- Cardiac stress test.
