Senior Product Designer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Engineering to create products that are implemented to spec and with other designers to create a cohesive cross-product experience;
- Partner with PM, Eng, and Research to define the product direction, strategy for your area, and simple solutions for complex workflows;
- Collaborate across multiple teams (marketing, growth, engineering, etc) to ensure stakeholders have their input integrated during development;
- Advocate for the needs of our customers (renters, landlords, agents, property managers) across our marketplace;
- Mentor fellow team members and be a role model for our design process and methods through clear and concise feedback;
- Deliver UI/UX product designs through our design process from ideation to launch;
- Establish a strong, collaborative design practice;
- Provide creative output and direction to ensure the vision for the product is achieved;
- You’ll make data-driven decisions that translate business goals into product experiences that improve our members’ health;
- Design, build, maintain, and implement pixel-perfect design systems;
- Create and maintain our design system for scalable design solutions;
- Pair with design resources on marketing and other teams to ensure consistency across Klaviyo web properties and initiatives;
- You’ll collaborate in cross-functional teams by communicating visually and verbally with key-stakeholders, including non-designers;
- Experience designing for mobile and web;
- Collaboration: Be an embedded member of a product team, building tight bonds with Engineers, Product Managers, and your Design peers.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Sketch, Adobe, Invision, iOS/Android, responsive web, HTML/CSS/JS;
- 5+ years of UX/product/service design experience;
- High proficiency with prototyping and visual design software, including Sketch;
- You have an unmatched fluency in UX, visual, and interactive design best practices and a strong understanding of usability principles and techniques;
- Ability to defend your work, but also take creative feedback and execute updates in a professional manner;
- Can communicate ideas to the client and have hard conversations when needed;
- Thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment where you own products from start to finish, and make decisions quickly and independently;
- Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides;
- Have 4-6+ years of experience shipping products and collaborating with developers;
- Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills, whether in one-on-one or group situations;
- Is comfortable with large application structures;
- Familiar with tools such as GITHub, to collaborate with engineers to manage design assets;
- Information architecture and user flows;
