The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for developing new market initiatives, assessing new markets, and analyzing business opportunities. Plans and directs all aspects of an organization’s business development policies, objectives, and initiatives. Being a Vice President of Business Development may also be accountable for licensing initiatives and programs; duties include negotiating contracts, initiating proposals, and closing deals. Our company is looking for a Vice President of Business Development to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the researching and monitoring of national RFP offerings and the process for proposal selection and proposal writing;
  • Leads, while partnering with the CEO and other Executive Team Members, the review and exploration of business strategy;
  • Schedule sales activity;
  • Source and develop client referrals;
  • Develop and maintain a customer database;
  • Monitor competitors, market conditions and product development;
  • Prepare sales action plans and strategies;
  • Generate and qualify leads;
  • Skilled in communicating effectively verbally and in writing;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;

Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to attend or participate in conferences, meet with potential funders, engage staff, and conduct business – Driver’s License required;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field;
  • Evidence of commitment to teamwork;
  • Ability to network, comfortable meeting new people;
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel;
  • Self-motivated with minimal oversight;
  • Sense of humor, integrity, personal sense of accountability;
  • Experience partnering with or managing within an Alaska Native Corporation (ANC);
  • Track record of success in your previous inside sales role;
  • 5-10 years of inside/outside sales experience;
  • Experience in handling the entire sales process from cold call to close;
  • Proven working experience as sales associate;
  • Ability to overcome objections.
