Our company is looking for a Senior Director of Data Science to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Build out a modern data platform that meets the core data provisioning needs of the organization’s data consumers;
  • Create the process and capabilities to feed actionable insights back into Bigfoot’s departments for continued learning, iteration, and action;
  • Build bridges between business and engineering stakeholders;
  • Train and inspire stakeholders to identify opportunities to leverage data science and simulations;
  • Define the company’s strategy for data distribution;
  • Insert data requirements into technology choices and investment decisions;
  • Play a mentorship role to key data science positions, guiding them through the execution of their duties, and encouraging their professional growth;
  • Work with product management and engineering stakeholders to define a process around data instrumentation;
  • Identify and provide tools and training to help others leverage data;
  • Be passionate about learning new data-driven techniques that will move the company forward, including working with outside vendors where applicable;
  • Build out an agile process by which your team can most effectively work with different groups in the company to drive the most value;
  • Follow legal policies as directed;
  • Perform other duties as required and assigned by manager and upper management;
  • Lead and grow a team of data scientists and evangelize the idea of machine learning across multiple departments;
  • Collaborate and build strategies with internal partners across the company to develop and deploy predictive models.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated success in advocacy for and implementation of enterprise-wide projects;
  • Must enjoy and have demonstrated skillset for problem solving;
  • Experience with enterprise-level data analysis, automation, and providing data-focused system integration solutions;
  • Must enjoy and have demonstrated history for successful collaborations;
  • An effective communicator able to bridge between biologics/chemical sciences and information technology;
  • Has an appreciation of the type and uniqueness of data from biopharmaceutical process development and manufacturing;
  • Must be creative and have demonstrated ability to think beyond what is presently possible;
  • Proven ability and experience in working with teams in departments such as marketing, merchandising, supply chain, and product management;
  • Proven ability to lead a cross-functional team in a large company including training and advancing the skills of the team;
  • Experience with data manipulation and analysis using SQL and other tools such as Python and R.
