Freelance Copywriter Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Freelance Copywriter to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a minimum time allocation split of approximately 30% agency time / 70% billable client creative time;
- Maintain an active dialogue with all team members to ensure project goals are met;
- Ensure all writing meets client brand standards and guidelines, while also following strategic direction for targeting audience segments;
- Work with the team Creative Director and Project Manager to define and meet project schedules;
- Complete timesheets daily;
- Review personal schedule to meet project deadlines and actual vs. estimated hours and costs on jobs;
- Participate with Account Executives in project input, planning, concepting, and work-in-progress meetings;
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Ability to take on multiple projects simultaneously and juggle various deadlines;
- College degree in marketing, communications, journalism or similar;
- Excellent proofreading/editing skills;
- Take ownership for everything you touch and be driven to produce great quality;
- Able to work on-site at our San Francisco office full-time or part-time;
- Be honest, transparent, respectful and altruistic in your interactions;
- Ability to write clear, concise content for a variety of media;
- Technologically savvy and experienced with utilizing online platforms and services related to project management and business operations;
- 5-8 years of experience as an experienced copywriter for a B2C brand or advertising agency;
- Exceptional listening skills, and willingness to ask questions if requirements are not clear;
- Experience writing marketing copy for emails, websites, landing pages, marketing collateral online ads.
