Culinary Supervisor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Culinary Supervisor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Taking on extra responsibilities including but not limited to sanitation, HAACP programs, ordering, etc;
- Supervising cooks in an assigned area;
- Must be competent in all stations and able to run an entire area;
- Preparing and cooking products according to recipe specifications and food safety/sanitation guidelines;
- Ability to walk and stand for up to 12 hours;
- Understanding menu offerings and presentation;
- Monitoring Temperature Taking/Logs;
- Educate staff to ensure that they know, understand and follow all of the Department and Center policies and procedures;
- Ensure cleaning assignments and temp logs are being followed accurately according CMS standards;
- Participate in Weekly internal DPH audits alongside Jr Sous Chef;
- Ensure adherence to all CMS guidelines in the kitchen;
- Follow up on any open items from internal audits;
- Train and support all staff to ensure they understand all of their job responsibilities;
- Coordinate monthly in-service sessions with staff using the department safety/training guide;
- Supporting Cooks/Cold Production/Baker on Meals when needed.
Requirements:
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling;
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reaching;
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed;
- May require use of ladders;
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery;
- Ability to work in wet and dry conditions;
- Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals;
- In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours;
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
