Junior Staff Accountant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Junior Staff Accountant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service to our employees, customers, and vendors;
- Enter and reconcile corporate credit card statements monthly;
- Maintain vendor files;
- Accountable for all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities;
- Financial reporting and modeling using Excel;
- Provide reporting from internal platforms (Concur, QuickBooks, Oracle);
- Set up expense accounts in Concur, review expense reports for policy compliance and process expense payment checks;
- Invoice customers accurately and on time based on our internal billing schedule;
- Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time by the CFO or Controller;
- Reconcile cash general ledger accounts to bank statements;
- Process monthly and quarterly sales tax fillings;
- Gather & provide information, record journal entries, and assist with the reporting & reconciliation process;
- Record prepaid and accrual entries and reconcile to the general ledger;
- Record debt related entries and reconcile to the general ledger.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills;
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook;
- 2+ years of similar accounting experience required;
- Experience working with confidential information;
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative setting;
- Responsive to time-sensitive issues;
- Proficiency in Excel; demonstrated experience creating financial reports in Excel;
- Good planning and organizational skills;
- Proficiency in QuickBooks preferred;
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize;
- Willingness to learn new tasks and support a variety of roles, both internal and external;
- Proficiency in Oracle AP/AR modules preferred;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required;
- CPA or CPA Eligible is required.
