Mechanical Engineering Co-op Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Co-op to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Work on some of the newest innovations and equipment;
- Generate and present design concepts, perform design reviews to team members;
- Positions located in Louisville, KY; housing and relocation assistance available;
- Work with your assignment leader to accomplish established objectives and goals that support the business and also offer learning opportunity;
- Complete innovative technical assignments in a variety of product areas including refrigeration, washer systems and cooking products;
- Coordinate with different teams and coworkers to accomplish tasks;
- Participate on committees with peers that offer opportunities to network with the leaders of the company;
- Assist with design and prototype activities including CAD, manufacturing, assembly, testing, debugging, and documentation for mechanical fixtures.
Requirements:
- Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to engage in self-directed learning and remain productive with minimal supervision;
- Experience with SolidWorks including creating models, assemblies, and detailed drawings;
- Must be at least 18 years of age;
- Must be able to work full-time during term;
- Must possess a valid United States’ driver’s license;
- Strong multitasking, team-collaboration and organizational skills are a plus;
- Solid analytical skills;
- Currently pursuing Bachelors or better in Mechanical Engineering or related field;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to have two or more co-op rotations prior to graduation;
- Cumulative GPA >=3.0 (out of 4.0);
- Passion for engineering;
- Must be interested in learning how to unite engineering know-how with real world machine performance and product attractiveness;
- Strong interest in automotive engineering – developing the best cars & trucks on the market;
- Related coursework.
