Medical Records Assistant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Medical Records Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor incoming/outgoing faxes;
- Scan necessary paperwork into customer accounts;
- Communicate with physician offices for follow up;
- Create Prescriptions.
Requirements:
- Multilingual a plus;
- Proven work experience in Medical Records or other back office position;
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise;
- High school degree; additional certification in Office Management is a plus;
- Knowledge of healthcare related terminology a plus, specifically in the urological field;
- Most interaction will be via telephone, so you should be easy to understand over the phone;
- History of excellence in a fast paced environment;
- Proficiency on the computer/internet;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers);
- Professional attitude and appearance;
- Knowledge of HIPAA a plus;
- Customer service attitude;
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks;
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
