Research Specialist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Research Specialist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Review academic literature related to business ethics and update our “research” pages (See EthicalSystems.org, and click on “The Research” tab);
- Analyze large datasets such as employee surveys that we are running for the companies that work with us;
- performing optogenetic experiments, and;
- Helping visitors with standard operating procedures for basic lab activities;
- training mice and rats on behavioral tasks,
- Maintaining laboratory equipment and ordering consumables as needed;
- Preparing microbial growth media and inoculating cultures of naturally isolated soil bacteria;
- Communicating with the lab group regarding supplies, schedules, and facilities; and;
- histological analysis of brain tissue;
- Able to perform the following techniques in rodents;
- Necropsy, tissue and fluid collections;
- Tumor measurements, body weights, IBD and EAE scoring, behavioral monitoring, etc;
- Routine injections (SC, IP, IV);
- Blood collection from multiple vessels or cardiac, and perfusions;
- Rodent telemetry and physiological recordings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required. Master’s degree in social science or related field preferred;
- Ability to perform minor data analysis;
- 4+ years of experience;
- Registered Dietitian or Certified Health Education Specialist;
- Scheduled Weekly Hours;
- Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge of research principles, concepts, practices and methods;
- A minimum of 3 years related research experience.
