Our company is looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits and file returns accurately and timely;
  • Reconcile payroll accounts accurately and timely;
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting including W-2’s;
  • Perform daily payroll operations;
  • Provide the highest level of customer service when responding to questions;
  • Process correct garnishment calculations;
  • Process payroll accurately and timely;
  • Properly import files received from HR;
  • Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures;
  • Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks.

Requirements:

  • Certified Payroll Professional, Certified Payroll Administrator or Payroll Compliance Professional certification desired;
  • 5-7 years of experience in payroll, statistical analysis, accounting or finance is required;
  • Fast-paced team environment (frequent tight deadlines, multitasking, etc.);
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local tax regulations;
  • Open to ongoing change and demonstrate the ability to handle obstacles with diplomacy and tact;
  • Experience working directly with senior management;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Experience with Ceridian payroll software and Kronos timekeeping software a plus;
  • Extensive knowledge of employment and federal and state tax law;
  • Requires a minimum of 4 years of experience processing multi-state payroll;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment and manage multiple and/or conflicting priorities;
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including the ability to work independently and meet deadlines;
  • Superior Client Service skills.
