Shipping Supervisor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Shipping Supervisor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Other duties as assigned;
- Continuously measure/monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when needed;
- Inspect loading operations;
- Ensure data integrity within company enterprise systems such as TMC and SAP;
- Conduct inventory reconciliations;
- Ensure inventory accuracy and focus on maintaining and improving operating efficiencies to include employee productivity;
- Monitor pickers’ and packers’ productivity;
- Inspects all trucks for sanitation and temperature control before loading;
- Arranges LTL shipments and potential product returns back to the plant;
- Resolve short in shipment, damaged freight and erroneous shipping issues;
- Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiencies and ability to expedite;
- Oversees the stacking of ice pack product from roller bed to pallets in the cooler and holding room;
- Requests necessary maintenance on equipment and performs preventive maintenance as scheduled;
- Monitor back order process and communicate to appropriate parties;
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Clear communication skills;
- Leadership Skills;
- Forklift, stand-up experience;
- Multitasking – prioritize and execute all tasks;
- Computer savvy;
- A minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role;
- Ability to operate a forklift and load trucks;
- Strong customer service skills;
- Proven leadership and supervisory abilities;
- Excellent Computer Skills;
- Familiar with DOT regulation;
- Great communication skills.
