Our company is looking for a Tax Intern to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and apply tax codes based on federal and state requirements;
  • Responding to inquiries from the IRS and other state taxing authorities;
  • Identifying, researching, and assessing various tax issues while also providing information to Tax Managers;
  • Complete QuickBooks entries including invoices, payments and reconciliation;
  • Contact clients for missing information;
  • E&P, Subpart F, and foreign tax credit calculations;
  • Scan tax documents;
  • Modeling of interrelated tax concepts including GILTI and FTC for compliance, planning, and provision purposes;
  • Provide telephone support;
  • Preparation of tax compliance and reporting forms (including Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, etc.);
  • Income tax accounting for international operations, including coordination with non-US subsidiaries;
  • Help clients with tax return pick up;
  • Collaboratively working with Tax team members while building rapport and strong relationships;
  • Create spreadsheets in Excel to compile/reconcile client data;
  • Reviewing data input, identifying and resolving federal and state technical tax issues, and assisting in the preparation of tax workpapers and returns.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications;
  • Attention to administrative detail;
  • Completion of introductory financial accounting required;
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative and cross-functional environment;
  • 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably with a Fortune 500 corporate tax or finance department or International CPA firm;
  • Strong computer literacy including intermediate proficiency with MS Excel;
  • Efficient in Microsoft products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
  • Responding to inquiries from the IRS and other state taxing authorities;
  • Identifying, researching, and assessing various tax issues while also providing information to Tax Managers;
  • Ability and willingness to learn office operations and effectively support staff;
  • Strong writing and quantitative skills;
  • Detail oriented to accurately complete tasks associated with completing and filing tax returns for clients;
  • Reviewing data input, identifying and resolving federal and state technical tax issues, and assisting in the preparation of tax workpapers and returns;
  • Collaboratively working with Tax team members while building rapport and strong relationships;
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance or comparable education.
