Group Exercise Instructor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Group Exercise Instructor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Solicit feedback from participants about the class;
- Make sure room is in order for the next class to begin;
- Answer any questions/concerns participants may have;
- Introduce yourself and the format of the class;
- Remove all music and return microphone to proper place;
- Attend all required staff meetings as necessary;
- Introduce yourself and the format of the class;
- Ensure that proper time recording procedures are followed correctly and in a timely manner;
- Parks in team member designated areas;
- Attends departmental meetings and any other meetings as requested;
- Helps with Service Day;
- Reads, signs, and abides by the policies included in the Team Member Handbook;
- Helps with acac programs, special events, or activities outside department;
- Checks acac email daily;

Requirements:
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot audio equipment;
- Knowledge of basic physiology and body mechanics;
- At least six months teaching in a group exercise format;
- Group fitness certification by ACE, AFAA, ACSM;
- Positive and effective interpersonal communication skills;
- Current CPR certification and basic first aid training is required;
- Safety and customer service oriented;
- Excellent communication skills to work positively with different populations;
- Must be extremely organized and prepared to teach classes;
- Instructors having a specialized skill such as Yoga, Pilates, Group Power, Spinning, Zumba, etc. must provide verifiable proof of education;
- The ability to learn implementation of Fitler Club and H&W Director proprietary classes;
- Available to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays;
- Learn/develop signature class formats;
- Vast knowledge of current group fitness trends;
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
