Personal Fitness Trainer Job Description

Personal fitness trainers work with an individual client or a small group. They may train in a gym or in clients’ homes. Personal fitness trainers assess the client’s level of physical fitness and help them set and reach their fitness goals.

Our company is looking for a Personal Fitness Trainer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle member concerns when applicable;
  • Convert promotional clients and free trials to paying, productive members;
  • Modify specific exercises to accommodate various skill levels;
  • Lead and motivate clients throughout intense training sessions;
  • Deliver pre-designed and custom workouts to groups;
  • Ensure safety of participants with respect to exercise technique;
  • Helps with acac programs, special events, or activities outside department;
  • Club cleanliness is an all-team responsibility; helps whenever necessary in any area of the club to keep club neat and clean;
  • Reads, signs, and abides by the policies included in the Team Member Handbook;
  • Checks acac email daily;
  • Attends departmental meetings and any other meetings as requested;
  • Parks in team member designated areas;
  • Exhibits a positive attitude at all times and upholds acac’s values of teamwork, customer service, and engagement;
  • Performs the Essential Functions and Responsibilities as described (other duties may be assigned);
  • Helps with Service Day.

Requirements:

  • Able to motivate and inspire clients;
  • CPR/AED certification;
  • Must enjoy working in a team environment;
  • Able to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays;
  • Experience with driving personal training sales highly desired;
  • Highly dependable and prompt;
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills;
  • Able to successfully demonstrate proper exercise techniques and use of equipment;
  • Superior customer service skills;
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications a plus;
  • Must be available to work during the hours outlined in the Job Description;
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds;
  • Safety and customer service oriented;
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • Willing and able to respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies.
