Our company is looking for a Toddler Teacher to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and enforce rules for behavior, and procedures for maintaining order;
  • Teach basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills;
  • Read books to entire classes or to small groups;
  • Provide a nurturing learning environment;
  • Must get Boise City Child Care Worker License and Pediatric CPR and First Aid;
  • Must register with Idaho Stars within 15 days of hire and complete all required trainings;
  • Attend to children’s basic needs by feeding them, dressing them, and changing their diapers;
  • Assimilate arriving children to the school environment by greeting them, helping them remove outerwear, and selecting activities of interest to them;
  • Prefer Early Education or Elementary Education background, but not required;
  • Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities;
  • Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play;
  • Engage positively with parents;
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement lesson plans.

Requirements:

  • CDA Certificate with greater preference for Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree;
  • Proven ability to relate to and work with children and families;
  • At least two years of experience working with children;
  • Ability to identify and respond to a crisis immediately;
  • Ability to supervise staff effectively;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices;
  • Prior classroom experience;
  • CDA, Associates or BA in Early Childhood Education or related field;
  • Prior childcare experience;
  • Strong written and communication skills;
  • Pursuing degree;
  • Infant teacher must have prior experience with infants or young toddlers;
  • Experience working as a teacher;
  • Ability to remain patient and positive with children;
  • Relevant certification or diploma as outlined by state laws.
