Our company is looking for a Director of Quality to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct risk and gap analyses of existing systems and processes;
  • Maintain Quality Agreements, and all quality associated documentation files, databases, and logs;
  • Oversee qualification, performance tracking, and reviews of contract manufacturers, suppliers and laboratories and manage internal and external audits;
  • Approve and issue specifications, and methods for drug substances and products;
  • Oversee all aspects relating to the QC instrumentation program including; purchase, installation, qualification, PM scheduling and trouble shooting;
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining QC policies and ensure quality and compliance in the QC laboratory;
  • Experience in Building SOPs and leading Audits (internal and external);
  • Food Science Degree (Meat specific would be ideal);
  • SQF/BRC Experience (leaning towards SQF);
  • Maintains, controls, verifies, and ensures ECO’s are processed using Quality Documentation Management Systems;
  • Represent Quality for all Product and Process Change Controls;
  • Maintain internal and external (customer and vendor) audit schedules and develop and mentor auditor teams;
  • Maintain strong cross functional quality focus: build, maintain and spread knowledge throughout organization;
  • Represent Quality during New Product Development projects;
  • Supervise direct report(s) which includes setting objectives, monitoring performance and conducting reviews.

Requirements:

  • PCQI Certified;
  • Taking a lead role in all food safety and quality initiatives;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related curriculum;
  • Certified Food Defense Coordinator;
  • Bachelor of Science degree in the Life Sciences/Engineering, or equivalent;
  • Experience providing scientific input, data analysis and written reports for failure investigations;
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience of exempt and non-exempt employees in the Quality Management setting;
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Lean/Six Sigma Quality, statistical analysis, supplier quality assurance;
  • Ensure compliance to NAVSEA, ABS, USCG and other customer requirements;
  • Experience with production level firmware, software, and mid-high volume hardware manufacturing;
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies a plus (DMAIC, Kaizen, Kanban, root cause analysis, etc.);
  • Enthusiastic, team player, collaborative across all departments to achieve the common goals;
  • Experience working with wireless IoT devices – BLE/Internet connected/Battery powered IoT devices a plus;
  • Experience managing JDM, OEM, or ODM resources overseas.
