Fabricator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Fabricator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Directly supports field crews in troubleshooting equipment;
- Move parts and heavy frames on and off machinery and throughout the facility;
- Communicates the work schedule to the customer as required;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Fabricates various structural equipment from blue prints and work orders;
- Completes and submits shop work orders, rework, miscellaneous sheets to update individual utilization reports on a daily basis or as required;
- Diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment, and performs preventative and corrective maintenance;
- Build assembly and wiring of electrical components on equipment and machines including wireway and conduit runs;
- Mechanically and electronically equipment;
- Keep work area clean and organized;
- Perform other duties as assigned with minimal supervision;
- Work alongside other employees as a positive team member.
Requirements:
- Judgment and decision making;
- Experience: At least 3 years’ experience in metal fabricating;
- Excellent verbal and written communication;
- Prior CNC experience preferred;
- Read and interpret shop drawings, weld symbols and specifications;
- Have passed Tack Welder and one inch thick 2-G welder qualifications;
- Able to use Carbon Air-Arch Torch for back gouging;
- Minimum 1 year of recent TIG and MIG welding experience;
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints;
- Minimum 1 year of fabrication experience;
- Experience in metal fabrication;
- Understand tolerances, measurements and metal properties;
- 1-year machining experience (Bridgeport, manual lathe, shear, press brake, etc.);
- Own tools required (hand & air) and rolling toolbox;
- Ability to read prints.
