Our company is looking for a Journeyman Machinist to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Good knowledge of shop tools and machines;
  • Miscellaneous housekeeping to ensure clean, safe work area and department;
  • Safely operate overhead crane and forklifts;
  • Pushing steel rolls on transport dollies and/or safe forklift operation;
  • Comply with safety training, disciplines and initiatives; utilize proper PPE;
  • Walking and/or standing 100% of time;
  • Analyze work orders, job specifications, blueprints and details;
  • Good vision and hand-eye coordination skills;
  • Create necessary tooling;
  • Observe machine operations to detect any problems, making necessary adjustments;
  • Able to read part drawings;
  • Maintain a safe environment;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Proper setup and adjustment of machine controls according to specification;
  • Machine parts under minimal supervision.

Requirements:

  • Effective, operational knowledge of machine shop tools, power tools, and other equipment;
  • High degree of job knowledge, skills, and precision accuracy within specified dimensions and tolerance;
  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Ability to safely operation overhead hoists and maneuver in a factory environment;
  • Basic math skills for ordering materials from a cut list;
  • One year of technical schooling in an advanced machine shop and three years hands-on experience, OR B) Six years working as machinist;
  • Ability to identify differences, issues or detect changes in operational performance;
  • Must be able to hold +- 10 min. angularity tolerance (machine permitting);
  • Must be able to hold .001 perpendicularly (machine permitting);
  • Must know how to do basic diagnosis and repairs on equipment;
  • Must have and show basic programming skills utilizing Featurecam;
  • Keep track of inventoried raw stock;
  • Must have advanced trigonometry skills to solve most shop problems;
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs;
  • Must be able to hold +- .010 true position.
