Machinist – 2nd Shift Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Machinist – 2nd Shift to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform rework and repair tasks;
- Maintain work area and shop tools/equipment;
- Follow established safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures and practices to include proper use and care of PPE;
- Load and unload components and tooling;
- Shows commitment to Altec core values;
- Move to other work areas in order to support production needs. (Cross-train);
- Maintain daily time records;
- Operate CNC machining equipment and other equipment as required;
- Effectively assist and train new/current associates;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Use measuring equipment to verify conformance to specifications;
- Read drawings, determine critical dimensions/tolerances/diameters, calculate conversion between decimals and fractions;
- Support APS (Altec Production System) initiatives. May participate in continuous improvement events;
- Perform inspection of machined parts;
- Assists with numeric controlled programming.
Requirements:
- Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed;
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook;
- Must be dependable and available to work overtime when required;
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with limited information;
- Able to communicate effectively with management, and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork;
- Self-motivated and ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision;
- Understands and demonstrates comprehension of drawings, blueprints and Manufacturing Work Instructions.
