Metal Finisher Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Metal Finisher to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Clean equipment as needed prior to changeovers or at the end of the shift;
- Finishing products by grinding, deburring, filing, sanding, polishing to the quality level required;
- Able to use straight-liner, hand grinders, finishing equipment, finishing tumbler, etc;
- Able to work with various materials; carbon steel, aluminum and stainless steel;
- Inspect product surfaces for defects and repair as applicable;
- Utilize blueprints to perform job;
- Preparing cars for departure;
- Working with in house machinists, mechanics, and body shop team;
- Polishing metal automotive parts.
Requirements:
- Lifting of materials up to 50#
- Perform basic math equations;
- Previous manufacturing experience;
- Understanding of metal properties;
- Ability to read blueprints;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos;
- Able to work in a fast-paced quality –oriented manufacturing environment;
- Lift/carry 0-15lbs constantly, up to 25 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally;
- Perform troubleshooting and R&D, theoretically and physically;
- Process and understand titrations;
- Polishing experience;
- Work performed in manufacturing environment where exposure to a number of elements occurs;
- Occasionally sit to fill out paper work;
- Must submit to and pass background and substance abuse tests.
