Our company is looking for a Paint Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience maintaining material traceability thru ought the painting process;
  • Ability to perform appropriate surface preparations to ensure proper adhesion;
  • Experience with safe work practices including the use of proper PPE;
  • Experience operating and maintain processing equipment (spray guns, hoses, etc.);
  • Knowledgeable of paint mixing techniques and ratios (primers, enamels, lacquers, thinners);
  • Proper use of ovens and other drying techniques, including curing temperatures and procedures;
  • Utilize safe methods of handling material, including chemicals, required in all aspects of process;
  • Performing and understanding various mixing techniques, including testing of viscosity levels, and the effects achieved from different concentrations;
  • Monitoring visible emissions from paint booths;
  • Deciding on and performing proper masking techniques necessary to meet customer requirements;
  • Working knowledge of grain direction and how it relates to customer requirements;
  • Testing and performance evaluation of dry films and other materials used in required processes;
  • Understanding of VOC limitation requirements, and calculation and maintenance of VOC usage records;
  • Understanding of various cleaning and pre-treatment processes and their effects on customer parts;
  • Proper maintenance, setup, use, and cleaning of equipment required to perform required processes.

Requirements:

  • Thorough working knowledge of aerospace coating specifications and customer specific requirements;
  • Ability to perform appropriate surface preparations to ensure proper adhesion;
  • Experience with safe work practices including the use of proper PPE;
  • Experience maintaining material traceability thru ought the painting process;

  • Ability to read and understand instructions with the ability to read drawings that identify masking and paint and non-painted areas.
