The QC Inspector I inspects materials, parts and products at different stages of production. Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products. Our company is looking for a QC Inspector to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Data entry;
- Completes paperwork and data entry on computer, as required;
- Reference blueprints;
- The Quality Inspector is responsible for device inspection and the identification of non-conforming material;
- Inspect product visually for obvious defects;
- Analyzes, interprets, and creates analysis using Microsoft Excel/Access software;
- Interpreting machine prints to determine specifications & ensure assemblies meet QA guidelines;
- Reviewing annual sales forecast of finished goods and suggesting revisions on a monthly basis;
- Use of a micrometer, swede gauge & height gauges, inspecting detail and very fine needle point inspection & assembly;
- Communicating regularly with domestic and international vendors on order status and lead times;
- Project-based system updates and data maintenance to support inventory planning software;
- Working closely with the logistics coordinator on importing material from all international vendors;
- Maintain safety and quality standards by using acceptable housekeeping practices on equipment and work area;
- Document part characteristics and measurements on inspection history cards during first article inspections and other inspection sequences;
- Report defective material or questionable conditions to production department supervisor.
Requirements:
- Ability to learn forklift and be certified on it;
- Must be detailed and able to problem solve;
- Must have verbal and written command of the English language;
- Ability to solve simple formulas;
- Ability to work multiple concurrent projects with constant interruptions;
- Must have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
- BS in Industrial/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience preferably in a commercial aerospace environment;
- Product costing knowledge and ability to identify opportunities for cost reduction;
- Project Management and troubleshooting experience a plus;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a positive attitude;
- Very comfortable in Microsoft Excel and Outlook;
- Able to re-prioritize constantly and ask questions;
- Experience with a stereo microscope, a plus;
- Love of music and/or guitars a huge plus;
- Minimum of 2 years of previous inspection experience using a microscope.
