Senior Auto Body Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Auto Body Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Performs work outlined on repair order with efficiency, accuracy, and high quality and in accordance with dealership and insurance company policies;
- Performs daily cleaning of all body shop areas prior to leaving for the day;
- Immediately reports safety issues to management;
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order with proper flag sheets, technician notes, etc;
- Participates in Paint Company, ICAR, ASE, or other training programs, certifications, schools, and events;
- Places warranty parts in original part box and returns to parts manager;
- Understands, stays abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc;
- Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner;
- Repairs automobiles and light trucks as assigned;
- Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs;
- Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards;
- Follows all safety policies and procedures;
- Ensures that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Unrestricted driver’s license and clean driving record;
- Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills;
- An impressive work ethic;
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance;
- High School Diploma or GED;
- Ideally, two years of collision experience in a process-oriented shop;
- Must be at least 18 years old;
- Can operate a standard-transmission vehicle;
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress;
- Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Two years of relevant experience required;
- Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles;
- Quality conscious and detail-oriented;
- High school diploma or GED required; some post high school education or training preferred;
- Highly professional and dependable.
