Our company is looking for a Senior Automation Controls Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Clear communication with the project manager on schedule and scope implications through the project lifecycle;
  • Development of system documentation;
  • Responsible for initial start-up and debug of integrated systems in house and at customer locations;
  • Lead the control debug activities to insure the machine debug phase of the project is completed on schedule;
  • Provides support during design, build and testing phase of the project;
  • Design, develop, and implement control systems (logic software and controls hardware) to meet machine and integrated system requirements;
  • Designing, implementing, and supporting electrical hardware systems;
  • Work independently or as part of a team; may also serve as Project Lead for large automation projects;
  • Being a self-starter that can work both independently and in team-based project environments;
  • Demonstrating solid rapport with clients, peers and supervisors;
  • Understanding manufacturing processes and process instrumentation;
  • Designing, implementing and supporting PLC, HMI and SCADA software for control systems and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Self-motivated;
  • Experience with programming PLC’s (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Siemens);
  • Familiar with Vision Systems (e.g. Cognex, Keyence) a plus;
  • Familiar with Industry Standards UL and CE;
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and be comfortable presenting technical information to customers and vendors as needed;
  • Excellent time management and problem solving skills;
  • Configuring and designing HMI/OIT systems (e.g. Allen Bradley, Cmore, Direct Connect);
  • Experience and skill in troubleshooting control system issues;
  • At least 7 years of experience in complex motion control environment such as robotics or precision positioning systems;
  • Proficient in Design/Drafting Tools such as ProE, AutoCAD or SolidWorks or Eplan;
  • Familiar with various Motion Controllers & Robotics (Staubli, ABB, Fanuc, Automax, Allen Bradley);

  • BA/BS degree in engineering or equivalent (BSEE degree preferred) .
