Water Treatment Plant Operator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Regulating influents/effluents for plant operation;
- Performing equipment and tank inspection, preventive maintenance, and documentation/Data sheets;
- Ensuring facility appearance is acceptable and work environments are safe, clean, and orderly;
- Performing consistent high quality laboratory work and logs of calibrations;
- Making chemical dose adjustments in response to changing water quality parameters;
- Maintaining Compliance with ADEQ Permit Regulator;
- Reporting anomalous events with Water Treatment plant to supervisor;
- Monitoring data acquisitions screens and historical data and have the ability to interpret them;
- Working with plant operator and maintenance personnel on shift;
- Sampling and analyzing influents/effluents;
- Maintaining day-to-day lab, inspections, and preventive maintenance operations necessary to meet quality effluent water for discharge.
Requirements:
- Ability to safely operate machinery and vehicles;
- Basic computer and problem solving skills;
- Ability to work with minimum supervision;
- Class D Water License must be obtained within 6 months of employment;
- Must obtain Class C Surface Water Treatment within 2 years of employment;
- Ability to remove and repair mechanical components of the treatment plant;
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Basic knowledge of general laboratory equipment, metering pumps and instrumentation;
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
- Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License;
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;
- Basic mechanical skills;
- Ability to rake, shovel and clean.
