Our company is looking for a Welder/Fitter to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • The most commonly used wire for our GMAW and FCAW processes in our shop include .045, 1/16, .052, and 3/32;
  • Open table welding;
  • Position and secure work pieces using hoists, cranes, wire and banding machines or hand tools;
  • Develop templates, fixtures or other work aids to hold and align parts during assembly;
  • Pay close attention to detail working to achieve error-free performance;
  • Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions;
  • Follow policies, procedures, work methods, directives and work rules established by company management;
  • Able to work with gage steel through to thick plate;
  • Other duties as assigned or directed by Management24.00;
  • Operate tools, equipment and machinery with caution to prevent damage or injury to self or others;
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area;
  • Read, understand and apply technical information contained in engineered drawings, specifications or manuals to the assembly of manufactured parts;
  • Operating a Forklift;
  • Heat, form, and dress steel parts using hand tools, shop machines, gas torch or hand plasma equipment;
  • Assist with welding of weldments.

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license;
  • Follow safety requirements;
  • Supply own hand tools;
  • Work well with others and take directions from supervisors;
  • Occasionally work beyond an eight-hour day;
  • Familiar with crane fabrication and assembly;
  • Works on assignments that are routine in nature;
  • Fully understand manufacturing drawings, able to verify dimensions;
  • Complete shop order documentation and time sheets;
  • Apply workmanship standards and understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form;
  • Working knowledge of GTAW Welding;
  • Minimum 18 years of age;
  • Willingness to work overtime as required;
  • Forklift operation experience preferred;
  • Two (2) years of industry specific experience including knowledge of the various types of welding methods and practices.
