Parts Clerk Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Parts Clerk to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Request parts and supplies from internal and external sources;
- Other duties as assigned by management;
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and remove out of code products;
- Maintain accurate files and log books;
- Respond quickly and accurately to part requests from shop personnel;
- Provide superior customer service, in person and over the telephone;
- Unloading delivery trucks;
- Unload delivery truck to receive and stock inventory;
- Issue parts from inventory to work orders;
- Issue purchase orders to vendors;
- Process warranty cores for return;
- Cycle counts of parts inventory;
- Review purchase orders and posting invoices;
- Restock Inventory;
- Data entry experience in a vehicle maintenance/parts environment preferred.
Requirements:
- One year of experience in parts background suggested;
- Must be able to maintain a safe, reasonably clean and organized work environment;
- Must be able to operate a forklift;
- Must be able to read English;
- Must be able to follow directions;
- Must be able to work basic computer functions;
- Must be able to pass drug test and background check;
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English;
- 1 year auto parts experience;
- Must be able to provide Motor Vehicle Record at time of job offer (current within 15 days);
- Must be able to operate a forklift, certification or previous experience a plus;
- Must be computer literate;
- Previous rental experience a plus.
